Slinky Dog Coaster Cars Spotted At Hollywood Studios

A Twitter user spotted the new cars for the forthcoming Slinky Dog Dash being delivered onto Disney property. The cars are yellow and look, as expected, look like Slinky Dog.

The Slinky Dog Dash is scheduled to open with the rest of Toy Story Land in 2018.

Disney Company Donates $1 Million To Hurricane Victims

Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that the Disney Company will be donating $1 million to the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston. Iger said in a statement, “Our hearts go out to everyone in the devastating path of this historic storm. It’s hard to fully appreciate the impact, in part because it isn’t over yet. But we know thousands of people have lost everything and now face the daunting challenge of putting their lives and communities back together, and we’re using our unique resources and reach to help those in need.”

Iger also announced that the Disney Company will match every donation from it’s employees dollar for dollar. If you’d like to donate to the American Red Cross, click here.

Mission: BREAKOUT! Halloween Overlay

It looks like our rumor about Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! getting a Halloween layover have been confirmed! Disney announced that during the Halloween holidays, guests will be able to help #SaveGroot!

The press release states, “Your adventure picks up moments after the events of the popular Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! attraction. The Guardians have successfully escaped The Collector’s Fortress, but they have accidentally left Groot behind! Rocket enlists you to distract the creatures that have been released so he can find and rescue his little buddy.”

Once the sun sets each evening during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! will transform into Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark. Music continues to be at the heart of the experience, and an all-new song, “Monsters After Dark,” was created especially for this attraction by Tyler Bates, composer of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films.

Millenium Falcon Ride System

Upon viewing some new drone shots of the Star Wars Land construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Chip & Co has hypothesized that the new Millenium Falcon attraction will either be a centrifuge based attraction similar to Mission Breakout, or, a new ride system Disney patented call an Omnitable. The attraction would basically work like an Omnimover, think Haunted Mansion, where you load onto an Omni mover car that contains a screen. The attraction would be able to move your car up and down along with the action. There are some great illustrations at Chip & Co.
