Harry Potter Christmas Celebration Coming To Universal Orlando

Universal Orlando announced several nighttime offerings for the upcoming holiday season, including a nighttime projection show on Hogwarts Castle. Theme Park Insider reports, “Universal will be bringing holiday-themed live entertainment to the Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley Wizarding Worlds, starting this November. The parks also will feature special, holiday-themed food in the Wizarding Worlds.”

There will also be an all new Christmas parade featuring Dreamworks characters, and Macy’s balloons.

Club 33 Coming To All Four Walt Disney World Theme Parks

It was announced this week that Disneyland’s exclusive Club 33 will be expanded to include locations at all 4 Walt Disney World theme parks. However, membership’s to the Anaheim club will not carry over to Walt Disney World, and each of the 4 clubs in Florida will be standalone, requiring a separate membership for each.

While there is no information currently about the location of each of the new clubs, Disney is accepting emails from interested parties at WDWClub33@disneyworld.com.

Disney Releases Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! Trailer

Disney released it’s first teaser trailer for Guardians Of The Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! and it’s “Summer of Heroes.” The end of the trailer features a scene that appears to have been shot inside the old Tower of Terror boiler room that is rumored to be a part of the new attractions queue with just some minor re-theming.

Disneyland Accidentally Confirms New Fantasmic Scenes

The Disney Company has a slight oops this week, confirming the rumored changes to Disneyland’s Fantasmic weeks earlier than planned. The changes include more Mickey Mouse, as well as scenes from Tangled, The Lion King, and Pirates of the Caribbean. The post, on D23’s website, was pulled pretty quickly, but the internet is forever.

Fantasmic 2.0 was expected to open just before July 4th, but WDWNT reports that it may now be delayed.

Disney Introduces New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer

The new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released this weekend during a panel at Star Wars Celebration, at the Orlando Convention Center.

Star Wars Land Will Feature Reputation System

During that same panel, Disney announced that the new Star Wars Lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will have a reputation builder system that tailors your experience based on the decisions you make. So, if you are more of an Imperialist than a member of the rebellion…your experience will reflect that.

Another announced change, a new destination will be added to Star Tours later this year. Star Wars Land opens at Walt Disney World, and Disneyland in 2019.

Is Apple Buying Disney?

More speculation this week that Apple is considering purchasing the Disney company. Apple CEO Tim Cook previously stated that they are open to “acquisitions  of any size” and Disney CEO Bob Iger sits on Apple’s board.

At this stage it’s just speculation, but wouldn’t that be interesting?

Star Wars Hotel Rooms?

Saw a really cool story this week that Disney is surveying guests, through a third party, on their interest in spending the night inside the Star Wars universe. The rumor is that there would be an actual Star Wars Starship Hotel that you would stay in on visits to Star Wars Land at Walt Disney World.

According to WDWNT, This all-inclusive, 2-night immersive resort experience at Walt Disney World would include:

  • The opportunity to experience a 2-day story set in the the Star Wars universe.
  • Be surrounded in a continuous, story-driven entertainment experience as it unfolds over the course of the 2-night stay.
  • Have personal interactions with Star Wars characters, live performers throughout the starship (experience the story or simply observe the action according to personal preference).
  • Engage in the story with programs such as flight training, ship exploration, lightsaber training, and personalized secret missions (both on the starship and throughout the Star Wars themed planet).
