Walt Disney World Announces Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party & Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Dates

Disney announced this week that Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will begin it’s run in The Magic Kingdom earlier than ever before, starting in late August and running on select nights through November 1st.

Being followed immediately by Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party which runs select nights Nov 9th through December 22nd. The full calendar is here.

New Glowing Object PhotoPass Experience Added

In response to the popularity of the Tangled PhotoPass location at Magic Kingdom, Disney has announced another similar photo location at Epcot.

According to Theme Park Tourist, ” This time, the prop is a glowing lotus flower that guests can pose with in front of the China pavilion each evening beginning at 7:30 PM.”

Stitch’s Great Escape Open This Week

While we have been expecting Stitch’s Great Escape to close for good for many, many years now…it has somehow held on. Even after Disney placed the unpopular attraction in to the “operates seasonally” category late last year, it still manages to hang on.

After a 4 day opening in early March that was expected to be it’s final run, Disney has announced that Stitch’s Great Escape will open again for the peak time around Easter, more specifically, the attraction will open April 10-19th. Then, maybe, it will close for good? Maybe?

Race Through New York With Jimmy Fallon Now Open At Universal Orlando

After several weeks of technical rehearsals, and media events, Universal Orlando’s newest attraction “Race Through New York with Jimmy Fallon” has officially opened to the public. So far the reviews have been very good, especially for the queue.

Walt Disney World To Hire 1,000 Cast Members This Spring

Walt Disney World has announced that it plans to hire an additional 1,000 full and part time cast members this spring. The company’s news release advertises openings in restaurants, transportation, parking, and for lifeguards.

Disneyland To Test Wifi In Parks

In a move that we are going to file under “FINALLY,” it was announced this week that Disneyland will begin testing in-park wifi. According to WDWInfo, “…testing will begin April 24th, but guests will not be informed or see any signs that testing is taking place.”

But if you’re in the parks and see the public wifi network available, you should be able to connect.


Walt Disney World’s New Gondola System Set To Break Ground Soon, Announcement Expected At D23

Rumors have been swirling for a month now that Walt Disney World is planning to add gondola service between Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and some of the neighboring resort hotels. Permits were even filed for construction of the stations…but still no confirmation from Disney.

The latest rumor is that we will hear the details at this summer’s D23 Expo in Anaheim.

WDWNT reports that in addition to Satu’li Canteen at Pandora: The World of AVATAR, 15 other quick service locations at Walt Disney World will offer mobile ordering, those locations are as follows:

Walt Disney World Testing Uber-like Service

The latest rumor out of Walt Disney World is that the company is quietly hiring drivers for an Uber-like service where drivers will offer door to door transportation on Disney property.

The drivers would need to have extensive knowledge of Disney property and be able to answer guests vacation planning questions. No confirmation from Disney, but testing is rumored to begin soon.
