Main Street Electrical Parade Extended

This week Disneyland announced that the ‘limited time’ run of the Main Street Electrical Parade has been extended from June, to August! Read more here.

New Details Released About Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

The LA Times posted an in depth article about the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! that goes in detail through what is known about the new attraction. The part that really stood out to me is the attraction’s basic layout, which will remain virtually unchanged. The lobby, the pre-show, and the actual ride portion keep the same footprint. The boiler room…is apparently going to remain a boiler room with some minor theming.

More details here.

Universal Announces Prices For Volcano Bay

Universal Orlando announced it’s pricing structure for Volcano Bay this week. A one day admission just to Volcano bay will run $67. You can save a little money by buying multi-day/multi-park tickets, and Universal’s normally very affordable annual passes have gone up a little bit.

More details here.

Midway Mania Fastpass Opens Tomorrow!

The long awaited Fastpass at Toy Story Midway Mania begins operation tomorrow at Disney California Adventure.

Fastpass is also coming to the Matterhorn Bobsleds when it reopens later this month!

More on that story here.

WDW Gondola System To Begin Construction?

Reports circulating this week that Walt Disney World’s rumored gondola system is about the begin construction. A notification was filed that states as much. When complete, the rumored gondola system would connect Epcot, Disney’s Caribbean Beach, Pop Century and Art of Animation resorts, as well as Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

No official confirmation from Disney, but you can see the permit they filed here.

Tron Lightcycle Coming To Magic Kingdom & Disneyland?

This rumor (which we mentioned last week) grabbed traction again this week when Touring Plans’s resident insider Jim mentioned that Tron Lightcycle Power Run may be headed for the plot of land that currently holds the Tomorrowland Speedway.

Today, more fuel added to the fire when another source reported that the attraction may be headed for both domestic properties. Along with the Tomorrowland Speedway site, the attraction is also being considered for the space between Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and the Carousel of Progress at the Magic Kingdom.

In Anaheim, Tron would either take the place of the old Carousel of Progress building, which is now the Star Wars Launch Bay, or it would get a re-theme and go across the promenade in the new Marvel themed land.

Obviously no word from Disney on this rumor.

Jingle Cruise Getting A New Scene This Year?

Jim from Touring Plans also mentioned that the elephants in Walt Disney World’s version of the Jingle Cruise may be getting in on the holiday overlay action this year. If he is correct, the pachyderms will be playing hockey.

Simon & Michael’s Celebrity Moment

No Midnight PodCAST Member Simon and his husband Michael adopted a special needs dog named Petey from the Sacramento SPCA, and they ended up being featured in a BuzzFeed video, and on People magazine’s blog! Congrats boys! Can’t wait to meet Petey!

Area 3 Foundation To Hold A Fundraiser In Orlando

Area 3 Foundation is a charity that helps current and former Walt Disney World character entertainers with medical expenses and other care.

Our friend Bradford in Orlando has helped, and benefitted from that very organization and we chatted with him about their upcoming fundraiser, “Tired & Retired Character Review.” More details on this Saturday’s event on Facebook, or at
