This one rips my heart out! But it appears it may be true.
Cirque Du Soliel’s ‘La Nouba’ opened in a freestanding theatre at (what was then) Downtown Disney’s West Side in 1998. The show is a one-of-a-kind spectacle featuring ever changing acrobatic acts, incredible staging and an unforgettable score!
I personally have seen the show 5 or 6 times, and have a friend (see below) who was an opening principle cast member, and yes…I have the DVD. I am going to need it too, the latest rumor from our friends at WDWNT has the first Cirque Du Soleil show I have ever seen closing, and soon!
According to their report, “Upcoming promotional materials for the show talk about giving guests the opportunity to see La Nouba “one last time”. These materials do not speak about what will replace the show, but our assumption would be the a new show from Cirque would debut in a newly renovated theater at some point in the future. We have not been able to pinpoint an end date for La Nouba as of yet, but an announcement is expected later this week.”
If you have the opportunity, see this show NOW, you will never forget it…and neither will I. Tickets and info at CirqueDuSoleil.com.
