[1.0] #1 – “REALLY THRILLIST!?”

We’ll talk about THAT Thrillist article that has the theme park community in an uproar, plus hit news and rumors from Shanghai Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and Disneyland Resort!

Walt Disney World’s Express Transportation Gets A Price Hike

Earlier this year Walt Disney World announced a new service called Express Transportation. It’s essentially an up charge service that allows you to park hop without having to clear security and deal with turnstile lines at each park. When it was announced the service cost $15 per person for a single day, and $24 per person for multiple days.

This week, Disney announced that the prices are going up, full details here.

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival 2017

The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival returns to Epcot March 1 – May 29th. Gorgeous topiaries, flowers and horticulture from all over the world plus food, wine, and live music. Sounds like a blast, can’t wait to check it out on our next trip to Orlando in April.

Universal Filed Patents For Two New Ride Systems, One Has Us Thinking Mario Kart?

Biz Journals came across some patents filed by Universal that seem to hint at a new type of attraction for Volcano Bay, Universal’s Water/Theme Park that opens this summer, and another type of ride system that allows drifting? The drifting ride system looks a lot like Mario Kart to me, Philly agrees.

Is Disney Building A Gondola Style Transportation System In Florida?

WDWNT reports, “it seems that a Skyway-type gondola transportation system may be installed to transport guests between Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios (as well as a few resort hotels in between).” They have some great illustrations on their site.

THAT Thrillist Article

Thrillist released a scathing op-ed (the comments are GLORIOUS!) that took to task adult couples that like to vacation at Walt Disney World (and by definition Disneyland). The article was super insulting, and I just had to reply. What do you think?
